Mines Advisory Group (MAG) America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that raises awareness and funds for MAG, the global humanitarian and advocacy organization that finds, removes, and destroys landmines, cluster munitions, and unexploded bombs from places affected by conflict. MAG also provides education programs so that children and their families can live, work, and play as safely as possible until all the land that surrounds them is clear.
Since 1989, MAG has helped over 20 million people in 70 countries rebuild their lives and livelihoods after war.
MAG shares the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

Our history
In 1989, two brothers – Rae and Lou McGrath – felt compelled to do something to protect people from the crippling and often fatal threat of landmines. Their solution was to set up MAG, which they ran from a caravan near Cockermouth in England's Lake District.
More than a quarter of a century later, this lifesaving work continues and MAG has evolved into a major international operation, with a global headquarters in Manchester, United Kingdom, a U.S. office in Washington, D.C., and program sites in 20+ countries around the world. We have been pioneers in new detection methods and mechanical demining, and have built an approach that puts communities at the heart of our decision-making.
In 1997, MAG shared the Nobel Peace Prize for its role in banning landmines.
